a body in Motion will Stay in motion

We made a last minute trip to Birmingham this past weekend for several reasons, one being the MS walk. In 2009 my mother was diagnosed with MS. Since then she has started on daily injections (well up until a few weeks ago they were daily, now it's 3 times a week and she is very quick to celebrate the days without an injection--who can blame her!), had her right hip replaced (because of steroid induced arthritis), had one small relapse, and her left hip is going to be replaced at the end of this month (again because of steroid induced arthritis). Steroids are a great drug and a horrible drug at the same time. I digress...she has also become very involved with the MS society and became a certified something in MS. She amazes me and has grab MS by the horns. Some days are harder than others but that woman is not easily slowed!

Jody, Katie, and Dad

Emory had to join in.

Emory and Mrs. Susan

Mom and Susan

Susan made the "mistake" of telling Emory she could still skip...

Dad and mom with Bill and Diane Waud

Warming up

Mom looks like she's doing some type of thriller move here! Susan and Diane were doing the correct moves!

Emory and her Jody (well, Katie's Jody)
This boy LOVES his Papa

Looking forward to next year...mom wants to enter the t-shirt contest next year. We'll see how creative we can be, and by "we" I mean Katie and Mandy!
