Aloha!

No we aren't going to Hawaii. I wish we were. Jiggy and Dude brought this dress back for Emory, from their trip to Hawaii this past Spring. This post is for you Nancy.

Father's Day Weekend 2009

Chase of course got to call the shots this weekend, since it his "day" after all and so we headed down to Jacksonville, AL to spend some time with his family. We didn't leave until Friday evening so we arrived late Friday night. It took us a little longer then usual because we were trailering the 4 wheeler his parents bought last weekend during their visit. Not to mention about halfway there we had to stop for gas and Chase realized that the strap holding the 4 wheeler in the front, had been cut rubbing on the trailer! He drove a lot more slowly and stopped to check the straps more often after that.

Friday when we arrived. Emory wasn't quite ready to go back to sleep.

Saturday morning Chase had to opportunity to ride motorcycles with his brother. They woke up insanely early and rode for a couple of hours. Forrest has a Harley and a crotch rocket. Late Saturday afternoon we went to take the 4 wheeler to the lake house and then set off for High Falls. Basically, High Falls is a big waterfall that people jump off. Chase and I have been once together and he has been wanting to go back ever since. We had a great time. I did not jump but Chase and Fritz did a few times. Meanwhile the rest of us swam in the river. Truly God's Country...it was beautiful!!

Saturday morning...Bennett doing a headstand...with a little help from Dude.

The girls...Blue and Emory.

High Falls

Dude and Emory watching everyone jump! She had to wave to everyone.

Yes, that is Chase.

And so is that.

Family pic in the river.

Splashing with Jiggy.

Uncle Fritz and Emory walking back up the BIG hill.

It was a LONG way!

Sunday was a typical lazy day with a wonderful meal and then a LONG drive home. We had a great time but are happy to be back home.

Signing her dada's cards. She took this job seriously! :)

Lovin' on her dada!

Exhausted after a long, fun weekend.

The dogs were worn out too!!

Happy Father's Day Chase! We love you VERY much. You are an amazing husband and wonderful dada!

The new camera

Our other babies...Harley (the big one) and Belle (the little one).

She is learning to feed herself with a spoon. Right now it seems to be another tool to move the food around the plate! A few bites do make it to her mouth!

I like the fact that the date stamp is much smaller on this camera. I have to have to one there because I am OCD and must know exactly how old she was when the picture was taken. It would really bother me years down the road if I was like "I think she was about 14-15 months." I want to be able to say "She was 14 months and 4 days." I know it's sad but that is just me!

(new posts below)

I forgot about these

She LOVES smoothies. I usually make her one for a snack.

The child may turn into a berry. She has eaten so many the past few days! Blueberries, blackberries, strawberries...she eats them all.

So apparently I had a few pictures on my card that I could have posted while I was camera-less.

New Camera!!

I can not tell you how lost I felt without my camera!!! I was able to order a new one on Monday and it arrived today! Just in time for Father's Day. Without my camera I felt like I was missing out on important times in Emory's life. Not to mention that the grandparents weren't getting there daily dose of Emory pictures on the blog. Anyway, so this is the camera I bought. Since I am hopefully getting a SLR camera for Christmas this year I wanted to make sure I had a good point and shoot camera too. I wasn't too quick to pick one out this time. I started by going to Best Buy and asking the sales people which camera they recommended. This one was recommended twice. Then I looked them up on consumer reports and this one was recommended, best for the price. And yes it is orange. I will always know which camera is mine! So far so good. I had to charge the battery of course then I proceeded to take a million pictures of Emory, trying to make up for lost time! I don't think she minded the absence of the camera!

So Smart!

At least we think so. Since I am still out my camera, I am trying to post videos. It just takes so much longer. I have ordered a new camera and I am hoping that it will be here by this weekend for Father's Day!

Pictureless Post

What a weekend to be camera-less!! Chase's parents came in to town on Friday to spend some time with us. Actually they just wanted to see Emory!! :) Chase and I are perfectly fine knowing that people don't come to visit us anymore...just Emory! She is pretty cute, I can't blame them! :)

We had a great time during their visit. I unfortunately had to work on Saturday but Chase was able to go to the power sports auction in Lebanon, TN with everyone. I now have a 4-wheeler sitting in my garage because it the auction. No Chase did not buy a 4 wheeler...his dad did for the lake house. I have been on 4 wheelers before and seem quite few but this one was HUGE! They bought it to help get the boat in and out of the water because the boat ramp is so narrow. Because of this, it has a 1000lb towing capacity. (I'm hoping that it will pull up my bushes this week while it waits to go back to Jacksonville with us next weekend!--another post in itself)

Saturday night we wend out to dinner and then crashed at home...not very exciting.

Sunday was church and then the lake. Like I have mentioned before, we live 15 minutes from two big lakes, so we decided to spend the day out by the lake and grill out for dinner. It was SO nice and SO relaxing. Emory LOVES being outside and spent most of the day sitting on her blankets playing with all her toys. She did get in the water this time and actually enjoyed herself. She was so cute and I was hating Chase for breaking my camera because there were SO many good photo opportunities! We spent about 5 hours out there and then came home and crashed again.

We had a GREAT time and look forward to seeing them again soon.

Thanks Jiggy and Dude for visiting...We love you!

14 Months

So sorry I don't have a picture to post with this post but I am STILL without a camera!!

So Saturday Emory turned 14 months old. Not much has changed. But here are a few things.

-She will say "all done" whenever we are done changing her diaper or eating or playing or pretty much anything.
-She can point to her eyes, ears, mouth, hair, toes, and belly when asked "Where is your...?". I will have to get it on video.
-She is finally walking behind her little play stroller. You would think that she had been doing it forever. She just pulled up on it one evening and started walking behind it. This is why I think she is just going to wake up one morning and say "I think I will walk ALL by myself today."
-She is getting a little more adventurous. She has now discovered how to get out of the highchair at a restaurant. It is not NEARLY as relaxing to go out these days with her. I think we may be eating at home now until she's 2...at least!

This is SUCH a fun age! I can't believe she is growing up SO fast!

Could someone please tell me...

what language this is? I have heard it said that kids speak many languages until they find one that adults understand! She will "talk" like this all day! Every once in a while there is a word or two that comes out that I actually understand!

And they're off...

This is a video of Emory and her friend Callie. Callie is two months younger then Emory but much more adventurous...Emory is a very cautious child! Wonder where she gets that from?! :)

Small Problem...

Chase has broken my camera! He dropped it while loading the car and apparently it doesn't bounce well! The advantage to this situation is that I never really liked that camera so I get to buy a new one. However, until I have $200 I can spend on a camera I am missing moments with Emory!!! We do however have the video camera so until I have purchased a new digital camera videos it will be! I know that people that don't get to see Emory very often will appreciate that I m being forced to download videos. She is getting so big, so fast!
