They Grow Up So Fast

Did this really happen?!?! Did my baby girl REALLY "graduate" from pre-K?!?! I swear she was just born yesterday! She keeps saying..."Don't cry mommy! I have to grow up because I have to get married!" Ha! Honestly, I don't see myself crying. Maybe if she wasn't so darn excited about starting kindergarten and ready to go tomorrow, I might shed a tear or two, but really I'm fine! But...that being said I can't believe she is already old enough to go to big kid school!

For the past "school year" Emory has been attending the parents day out program at New Hope Baptist Church. It is about 6 minutes from our house and a great program. Emory LOVED going which was a huge change to our former daycare. Not that they didn't take care of her, but almost every time I would drop her off, she would cry...not cool...talk about tugging on mommy's heart strings! Emory teared up the very first day she went but by the time 2 o'clock rolled around, I had to make her leave!

This past Thursday was her graduation ceremony. Cap and gown and all! It was so cute. My brother happened to be in town and was able to go with us. I think Emory was more excited about him being there than me and Chase!

Walking in...my camera focused on the man behind her...oops!

Gavin was getting restless so Chase walked around with him.

Singing!

Towards the end she had to go potty...Ha!

Receiving her diploma!

Giving Ms. Jill her end of year thank you gift!

Emory's Recital Part 3

Thought I'd post a few of the pictures we took at the recital as well.  Chase was in charge on the video camera and Katie was in charge of the actual camera. We were sitting in the balcony so some of the pictures are a little fuzzy because the flash was off and we were so far from the stage. They were actually great seats because no one blocked our view!

The night before...attempting to get her hair curly! It actually worked and really wasn't that difficult to do, just slightly time consuming!

Her Ballet dance. Emory is on the back row...far left.

 Dancing around the stage!

Being her usual self and telling the girls where to go. In the video you can her the laughs from the audience...it was pretty cute!

Tap time!

She had a little "solo"

 Booty shaking!

She got some air!!

It was a "solo" here too. She was VERY enthusiastic...to say the least!

So proud of our big girl!

Emory's Recital Part 2

Emory's Recital Part 1

I've got to honest...I am NOT a dance mom and I really don't "get" dancing. Maybe ballet, I did that for a few years before I decided to go the sports route, plus it's classic. Maybe it's because I'm not good at dancing by any means!! As Chase puts it, I must have a steel rod that runs from my neck down to my hips--I'm too stiff! Ha! That being said, Emory LOVES dancing! She may not be great but her one desire at the moment is to be a Golden Girl at UAB.

This was Emory's first year taking any type of dance class. She took tap and ballet starting in January and she has LOVED every second. Yesterday was her recital. Again, got to be honest, we were not really excited about this, but we will support Emory if this is what she wants to do. So off the Belmont we went to sit though 3+ hours of dancing. This dance academy is HUGE and Sunday was the 3rd show of the weekend. But enough talking. I will let the videos and pictures speak for themselves.

I have tried for the last 2 days to get these videos to upload and post to my blog...without success, until now! I think...and I've had to create 2 posts to get them to work...ugh! That's what I get for not keeping up with my blog!

Anyway, enjoy the video...
