Chase travels a good bit with his job. Very rarely do we get to go with him but recently we were able to accompany him to Virginia Beach. They were having a conference that he and his boss had to end, so both families got to come along. The major benefit to this is Brian and Gina's children (Chase's boss) are older and are babysitting age! The first night we were there the wives and children were on our own for dinner and the second night we were able to go with the boys for the banquet. Will and Sarah were in charge of our children while we enjoyed a kid free dinner!

We stayed in Virginia for 2 nights then loaded up the car and headed to mountains! We met Wes, Jess, and Linley at Beech Mountain where her grandparents have a condo. I was there in November for a girls trip and this time we included the boys and kiddos. We arrived Friday night in time for dinner and peach jam making. Jessica and I are incapable of getting together and not canning. Last time it was apple making. This time it was peach making! My favorite! Saturday we went hiking at Linville falls. We chose the moderate trail this time since the kids and well, Wes, were with us! The Hard trail was gorgeous but we went with the wide well marked moderate trail. Still pretty and of course a great workout!

| Since Linley was not in a carrier, Gavin decided that he needed to walk as well! |

I feel like we have said this a lot but we are hoping this will be an annual trip! It was so nice to get back out in nature and hike! I've decided I'm a mountain girl. At least at this time in our life with 3 young children, it takes a lot less effort to get out and hike in the mountains, than it does to put sunblock on 5 people, 3 of which are wiggly and hate it (this may not be just my children ;) ). Not to mention the sand that is involved with the beach, the blazing sun, and the increase in shark attacks this year! I'm a mountain girl!
